Blogger for Word

Now Blogger for Word is a neat tool. I can blog without being online. I can blog offline and not have to copy and paste. I can even preview my blog offline before I post it. All I do is open MS Word, pound out a few lines, preview my post, spell-check it, save it, and post it. Not bad for free. Well, the tool is free, Microsoft Office is expensive, …, if you pay for it…, which you should,…, stealing is wrong.

Now, if it only worked for OpenOffice.org’s Writer….

GIMPShop dot Net Overhaul...

As seems to be the trend of late, my site - GIMPShop dot Net will be undergoing a transformation in the next couple of weeks. Since this is a one-man outfit, and I have a full time job outside of this website, it may take me a little longer than it should, and the end result may not look too different than the current site, but it will be more consitant and easier for me to maintain. Look for it to be up by the second week of October - or the end of the day, depending on how motivated I am today. 8^)

Meanwhile, here are some cool GIMPish links I've been told about. They will be added to the new site, but I'll list them here for now (and as long as Blogger stays online.) Enjoy!

The GIMP Users Group - GIMPShop users should expect a few original GIMPers hating on ya, but most folks are nice. Also be warned that the tutorials and whatnot are for the original GIMP, so their menu structure will vary.

Free Stuff for GIMP - It's stuff for GIMP and it's free!

A Guide for how to make GIMP portable - it's for Windows only, and AFAIK untested with GIMPShop. Let me know how things work out for you if you try it.

GIMPTalk - a place to talk about GIMP.

Enjoy the links! And Happy GIMPShopping!

Hello World

Wow, I've always wanted to put that up somewhere. :)

Welcome to the new GIMPShop.Net blog. I've never done this whole blog thing before, so please excuse my inevitable noob mistakes.

For those of you who don't know - GIMPShop is a powerful image editor designed to be used by people who are trained on or used to Adobe Photoshop. I'm here to let you all know the latest happenings on the GIMPShop scene.

For as long as they let me keep doing this - check back here for the latest and greatest happenings in the world of GIMPShop and other Free Software / Open Source stuff. And whatever else I end up putting up here.

For the record, I am not the creator of GIMPShop - nor any of the ports or hacks. I am merely a fan that wanted to put up a portal for all the info related to this great project. If you wish to visit the Home of the Original GIMPShop, tell Scott I said hello. And if you are unfamiliar with Photoshop, you may wish to check out the original GIMP. With that caveat in place, let's get on with the show!

Thanks for stopping by! Comments and suggestions are every much appreciated!
